Displaced Gazan makes tent with airdrop parachute

STORY: Abu Zaid said he was desperately searching for fabric to make a tent to live in, along with his wife and newborn son. Yet due to high demand and displacement in the Gaza Strip, Abu Zaid said he instead resorted to using the fabric of the parachutes.

”I went in once, twice and three times until I brought this parachute, it was not easy. Going into the sea is a struggle, a lot of people drowned,” Abu Zaid said.

On metal rods pitched in the sand by the sea, and tied with ropes, Abu Zaid covered the structure with the sturdy fabric and prepared another structure to finish up when aid is airdropped close by.
