Disney World officially opens its Skyliner service to the public: Here's what guests think

Disney World opened Disney Skyliner, its new aerial tram service, on Sunday, inviting guests to take to the skies.

Almost 300 colorful gondolas in shades of red, blue, green, yellow and purple – some wrapped in Disney character-themed designs – glide through the air, transporting park guests between resorts, Hollywood Studios and Epcot Center.

Several guest tweets Sunday noted they got a whole car to themselves, suggesting buzz isn't big enough to draw in huge crowds yet. But those who did try out the new Skyliner system raved about it.

"Seriously soooooooo obsessed guys," wrote Instagram user @disneywithlocals. "The Disney Skyliner is so amazing and a ride within itself. It was so cool seeing everything from the sky ... Love this new form of transportation. Disney’s done it again."

Also on Instagram, @neverlandlocal praised the gondolas as "breezy and cool (as long as they are moving)" and said he was excited to watch the park's nightly fireworks show up there with a more direct view.

@ladiosabri tweeted she was on the "inaugural run" of the Skyliner in a purple villain-themed gondola, adding, "LOVE THE SERVICE!!"

"Riding The New Disney Skyliner was so much fun!" Instagram user @churro.from.tomorrowland wrote. "I highly recommend everyone ride it. Inside the cabins is not too hot and the ride is smooth and fun."
