Disney price hikes rile Newsroom readers

“Walt wanted families to be able to afford his theme parks.” “Couldn’t afford it before. Can’t afford it now.” Disney theme parks have hiked ticket prices and now the happiest place on earth is pissing people off. Walt Disney World and Disneyland parkgoers will have to shell out more starting this Sunday; the price jump ranges from $2 to $11 per ticket. A single-day pass during peak periods at Disneyland has climbed from $124 to a whopping $135. No fun at all. “10 years ago we could get an annual pass for about $200. Disney should be ashamed of themselves,” one outraged reader writes. Others are calling for people to ditch the “Happiest Place on Earth” all together, suggesting: “Take your kids to the beach … instead.” Some people just want to get their money’s worth. If they’re going to pay more, one reader wrote, “give the people new attractions.” Just don’t touch the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, ok? What do you think? Will you be giving Disney your money?
