Disabled cruise chip finally in sight of US shore after days of drifting, shortages

MOBILE, Ala. - After a week at sea, the disabled cruise ship Carnival Triumph is in sight of shore off the U.S.

The ship is expected to arrive at a cruise ship terminal in Alabama on Thursday night.

More than 4,000 people are on board.

Passengers have described dismal, filthy conditions. The company has disputed the accounts and says employees are doing everything to ensure people are comfortable.

An engine-room fire Sunday left the ship powerles.
