British heavyweight Dillian Whyte takes on Australian Lucas Browne with both fighters hoping to put themselves in the picture for a world title shot

Saturday, March 24 2018.

Where is it?

Whyte will be on home soil in south London at the O2 Arena.

The card begins at 6pm GMT, but Whyte and Browne are not expected in the ring for the headline event until after 10pm.

What is Lucas Browne's record and style?

Browne is on a 25-fight unbeaten run, and has been a nightclub bouncer and a cage-fighter in previous lives. Now 38, Whyte should have a physical advantage over the Australian but he has a powerful right-hand and has a reputation as a swinger.

What are they saying?

Browne on Whyte and feeling no pressure:

I love big, competitive, fights and also the exposure, the UK has given that to me.

I'm going into this as an underdog but that's better for me, I have no stress. Whyte has to put on a good show, I just have to turn up and beat him.

It's going to be a knockout win, that's the only prediction I am going to give."

Big Daddy' has only fought once since his WBA world title win over Chagaev in early 2016, but the unbeaten powerhouse is assured of his ability.

As a fighter, Whyte's OK, but I think I'm better and have more tools.

Physically, he's a big boy with a long reach and good work rate. He will bring that, but can he keep up with my pace and power?

He has to stay away from my right hand and my left now for 12 rounds. If I land a nice, good, shot it could change everything.

As a person I don't know him, he could be doing his thing for the camera or it could be him. I don't like the person in front of the camera, that's why we don't get along.

Whyte on Browne being a 'clubber':

Keep my hands up. It's heavyweight boxing. If you fear one punch, move down a division or two. I don't fear that.

I've fought guys with a big punch, with speed, power, flashy technique, traditional boxing technique, tall guys who get a lot of leverage. He's just a clubber.

"He's strong but he hasn't fought anyone as youthful as me. He might have fought guys with better technique but they have been old.

"I've got the skill, speed and power. People forget, but I've got power. I can knock people out.

Whyte on improving:

Before I fought AJ I was a three-to-six round puncher but now I've got the punch power late into the fight, and I've got the cardio and conditioning to go with it.

It's not just about trying to put people to sleep in the first round.

People say: 'you're more calm'. I know what I need to do. Hindsight is a great thing. It's about experience. I've grown physically and mentally.

What are the odds?

  • Dillian Whyte 1/4

  • Lucas Browne 11/4

  • Draw  25/1

What is our prediction?

Whyte is absolutely desperate for another shot at a world title and possible bout with Anthony Joshua, and we fancy that incentive will be enough to carry him through what could be a slug-fest.

Verdict: Whyte to win by KO.
