Digital Spy's annual Reader Awards have become a much-loved part of the site – but did you know that they have been running since 2008? We have compiled an archive of all the winners from every year of the awards, with categories across not only TV, Movies and Soaps, but also Showbiz, Music, Tech and Gaming. Take a look to remind yourself of what we were all loving way back when...
2023 - Big Winners: Heartstopper, Barbie and EastEnders
At the time, Laurence Mozafari, Editor-in-Chief at Digital Spy, said: "Heartstopper's domination at the Digital Spy Reader Awards has continued for a second year running after sweeping up a whopping six awards in 2022. The Netflix coming-of-age-drama has truly connected with our audience, and beyond. It's amazing to see LGBTQ+ love stories on screen more than ever – a mission which we've championed as a brand throughout our 24-year history with our interview franchises like Rainbow Crew, which has featured Heartstopper stars Joe Locke and Kit Connor.
"As the BBC faces more political headwinds than ever, the cultural force of its prestige primetime drama has yet to waver, as Happy Valley's long-awaited, bleak, and brutal showdown between Tommy Lee Royce and Catherine Cawood finally played out after years of waiting. The two masterful actors captivated audiences right at the start of 2023, and those powerful scenes stayed front of mind, all the way until the end of the year.
"Perhaps unsurprisingly, Barbie trounced Oppenheimer for Best Movie, as both films begin their awards season campaigns, and we look ahead to the Oscars in March 2024.
"And finally, vintage Big Brother contestant, and joyous force of energy, Alison Hammond, landed herself the Best Presenter Award – and it's so well deserved. Her win comes after an incredibly tumultuous year for ITV, and This Morning especially, that saw them lose two flagship daytime presenters, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby."

2022 - Big Winners: Heartstopper, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and EastEnders
"Following the storming multiple award wins for It's a Sin in 2021's Digital Spy Reader Awards," said Laurence Mozafari, our editor in chief, "our audience has rightly highlighted Heartstopper's first kiss as the heartstopping TV moment from this year. It's amazing to see LGBTQ+ stories being centred in mainstream entertainment at last, which is why it makes so much sense for Kit Connor to also bag 'Rising Star', and the show to land 'Best Breakthrough TV Hit.'
"Representation matters, as stars have discussed at length with Digital Spy's Deputy TV Editor, David Opie, in our Rainbow Crew franchise throughout the year, including with Heartstopper’s Joe Locke and Kit Connor," added Mozafari. "Hopefully, young people can take entertainment like this as support to be their authentic selves."
"Elsewhere, wins for Bridgerton, Derry Girls, RuPaul's Drag Race, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever show bringing more diverse creatives and stories to mainstream television and cinema is not only connecting, but flourishing, and hopefully, there's still so much more to follow these trailblazers."

2021 - Big Winners: It's A Sin, No Time to Die and Coronation Street
At the time, Laurence Mozafari, Editor-in-Chief of Digital Spy, said: "Russell T Davies' heartbreaking but beautiful It's a Sin had to be the best drama of 2021 thanks to its incredible writing, landmark performances and, most importantly, a central story inspired by real events and real people. A story that finally gave all those who tragically lost their lives to AIDS the respect and recognition they deserved."
Mozafari continued: "There were similar levels of British domination elsewhere, as Daniel Craig's final turn as James Bond dominated the movie categories. It truly was a cinematic spectacle that got everyone back in the film theatres where they belong."

2020 - Big Winners: Killing Eve, 1917 and EastEnders
At the time, Digital Spy Editor-in-Chief, Laurence Mozafari said: "The huge response we've had to this year's Digital Spy Reader Awards shows just how much the British public have relied on TV as a source of entertainment this year – possibly more than ever.
"Netflix's Tiger King fascinated everyone with the eccentric nature of the individuals and the gobsmacking storylines that left viewers shocked, but craving more to see how everything unfolded."

At the time, Digital Spy's Editor-in-Chief Laurence Mozafari said: "It's rare for a website to still be going so strong after all this time, so to celebrate this landmark 20th anniversary we wanted to give our readers a chance to vote for their favourite entertainment moments.
"The biggest shock has to be Game of Thrones, which still came out on top as best TV drama despite that controversial final season."
