Documenting The Met Gala

The Vogue video shows a behind the scenes look as the two stars prepared for what’s known as “Fashion’s Biggest Night.” Fashion extraordinaire, June Ambrose, helped curate Comb’s original look by his fashion label Sean John. The stylist appeared in the video dancing with the record executive. Combs said his look was inspired by the late, Andre Leon Talley and Karl Lagerfield, the honoree of the night.

In the video Combs called Brownlee and revealed he hasn’t appeared on a red carpet with a woman in years. Combs expressed gratitude for the City Girls rapper and said he was proud to share the night with her. Brownlee laughed at his antics but remained calm for her first Met Gala even though she confessed she had butterflies.

While Brownlee got ready for the event, she complimented Combs’ massive energy.

“I loved that for us. Two Black beautiful souls, gracing the Met Gala.” she said.

Relationship Timeline

The artists stepped on the scene as a possible item in the summer of 2021. Brownlee and Combs hinted at a possible romance with their cozy Instagram posts. Brownlee’s infamous saying “We go together, real bad” from her podcast, Caresha Please, set Twitter users on fire. Fans joked about the ambiguous undertones in their relationship. Though Combs revealed they “date” and travel to exotic places he still only referred to Brownlee as his best friend.

In December, Combs announced the birth of his newborn daughter, Love Sean Combs. An announcement that made waves and had fans questioning the duo’s relationship. However, the music mogul did not stop making appearances with Brownlee. But in March, the City Girl tweeted that she doesn’t plan to share her next man. And in an April interview with The Cut, Brownlee confirmed that she and Combs had officially parted ways but were “still good friends.”

At the Met Gala LaLa Anthony interviewed the stars about their relationship.

“I’m asking, I want to know,” LaLa Anthony questioned Combs.

Combs struggled with his response as sweat dripped down his face.

“I don’t know what you’re asking me exactly. We definitely go together real bad,” he said.

Brownlee eventually took some of the pressure off the rap mogul.

“It’s just a good date night.” Brownlee responded.

During the interview Combs said God blessed him with Brownlee, but there isn’t an official title on their relationship.
