When news broke on Tuesday night that Khloe Kardashian, 33, was pregnant -- making her the third Kardashian/Jenner sister to be expecting a child -- fans and critics alike all wondered the same thing: Did the famous sisters plan to get pregnant at the same time?

To recap, reports had surfaced last month that Kim Kardashian, 36, was expecting her third child with husband Kanye West, 40, via surrogate. Last Friday, multiple reports revealed that the youngest of the family, Kylie Jenner, 20, was pregnant with her first child with boyfriend of five months, Travis Scott.

So, when Khloe's exciting development with boyfriend Tristan Thompson became public this week, it was only natural for fans to wonder whether or not the whole thing was orchestrated -- a common meme points to matriarch Kris Jenner as the person who came up with the idea. After all, they're all reportedly due within a month of one another, in mid-January or February.

However, sources close to the controversial family are claiming that the whole thing is just a giant, unbelievable coincidence.

"They are looking at it like a unifying experience for them as sisters," an insider told People. "Getting pregnant at the same time was totally unplanned but they are really happy about it."

In fact, it was the reveal of Kylie's pregnancy that caused Khloe to wait to tell those close to her that she was also expecting. She didn't want to steal Kylie's thunder.

"Things were complicated a bit by Kylie’s announcement, as they don’t want to be seen as intruding on that moment for her," the source said. "But it is now reaching a point where Khloe doesn’t want to be openly lying to people, and just staying quiet isn’t going to work anymore."

So, now that the news is out in the public for both "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" stars, they're excited to embark on the journey to motherhood together. Both sisters have expressed the desire to start families in the past, albeit to varying degrees.

"Kylie is over the moon about her pregnancy," another source told People. "Khloé and Kylie are both due around the same time. They are approximately four months along. Kylie loves how close-knit her family is and is thrilled to bring that to her own family. She feels more prepared than ever, especially since she will be sharing this journey with Khloé."

As for the rest of the family, older sister Kim Kardashian slammed reports on Twitter that claimed that she initially didn't take the news of Kylie's pregnancy well, calling the reports "fake stories." Kris Jenner, the mother of all of the women, is allegedly "trying to be supportive of Kylie even though she's worried."

Kourtney, the oldest of the sisters at 38 and mother to her own three children, has remained silent on the developments, though she slyly seemed to express public support of her two mother-to-be sisters on Instagram before any of the news became public. Under a photo of her engaging in a group hug with Kylie and Khloe, Kourtney used a vague quote by an unknown source as a caption.

"In life, you realize there is a role for everyone you meet," the quote reads. "Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you. They are the rare and amazing people who remind you why it's worth it."

If the family's past 10 years on reality television have taught us anything, it's that they will remain tight-knit and publicly supportive of one another regardless of any surprise or criticism that comes their direction. That's just the Kardashian way.
