Determann announces run for re-election

Mar. 15—DES MOINES — Rep. Tom Determann, R-Clinton, announced this week that he filed for re-election to House District 69.

"As the political landscape continues to evolve, it is with great excitement that I announce that I have filed to run for re-election to represent you in District 69," he said in a statement. "With unwavering dedication to our community as well as a proven track record of achievement, I stand ready to continue to serve all of you in District 69."

Determann was first elected to House District 69 in 2022. It was a seat that had been held the past 52 years by Democrats. District 69 includes the cities of Clinton and Camanche as well as Center, Deep Creek, Elk Riverand Hampshire townships.

"Since taking office, I have been a strong advocate for you on the Transportation Committee by pushing the issue of Highway 30 forward to be passed in the House," he said in the statement. "I have worked tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for you, my constituents, and address pressing issues that are facing our district.

"In seeking reelection, I remain committed to the principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. I aim to build upon the foundation that I have built during this first term in office to ensure that our district flourishes. Thank you for allowing me to serve District 69 in the past two years and I am so excited to run again to advocate for you!"
