The investigation revealed that during the battles for the administrative center of Kharkiv, the suspect voluntarily collected information on the concentration of personnel and military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces along the frontline and passed it to the Russian army command in the Izyum sector.

After the partial seizure of the oblast, the detainee assisted the occupiers in identifying members of the resistance movement while on duty at Russian checkpoints. He was found in possession of an AK-74 rifle with ammunition and a Russian-style military uniform.

The detainee, who is currently in custody, has been served a notice of suspicion under two articles, with a maximum penalty of up to 12 years in prison:

  • Aiding and abetting the aggressor state (Part 1 of Article 111-2)

  • Unauthorized dissemination of information concerning the deployment, movement or use of the armed forces (Part 2 of Article 114-2).
