Deputy rescues dog from middle of the road in Caruthers

CARUTHERS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A deputy with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office rescued a puppy that was running in the middle of the road on Monday.

Officials say Deputy Clark saw a Shepard mix puppy running in the middle of the road, near West Mountain View Avenue and S Henderson Road.

The deputy picked up the pup, took him to a safe spot, and fed him some food.

Due to where the dog was found the deputy named him Caruthers.

Officials say Fresno Humane Animal Services responded to the area and took the dog to its facility.
