Deputies still investigating report of robbery and shooting at Pawleys Island McDonald’s

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WBTW) — Georgetown County deputies are continuing to investigate a report of a shooting and robbery that injured a woman late Sunday night at a McDonald’s in Pawleys Island.

It happened at about 10:30 p.m. at the restaurant in the 10000 block of Ocean Highway, according to an incident report released Tuesday by the sheriff’s office. The woman was treated for a head wound at Waccamaw Community Hospital.

Deputies said the woman told them she was hit in the head by a man wearing a ski mask and hoodie who demanded money before firing three shots and fleeing toward a Publix supermarket. The incident report characterized the weapon as an AR-style gun.

According to the incident report, deputies searched the area but could not find a suspect or any shell casings. Deputies also talked to people who were in the area at the time and could not find anyone who heard gunshots.
