Deputies: Motorcycle rider killed in Tallmadge Twp. crash

TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a motorcycle rider from Grand Rapids was killed Friday in a crash.

It happened around 9:35 p.m. in Tallmadge Township, on Leonard Street near Tallmadge Drive, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the motorcycle rider, a 22-year-old man from Grand Rapids, was heading east when he lost control on a curve, went off the road and hit a power pole.

The rider, who was wearing a helmet, suffered fatal injuries, deputies say. His name was not released Friday.

Leonard Street will be closed as deputies investigate.
