Denver weather: Warming up ahead of storm chances into the weekend

​​​​​DENVER (KDVR) — There will be warm temperatures and rain chances in the Denver weather forecast through the weekend before dry conditions return.

A few passing showers or thundershowers are possible early Tuesday night along the Front Range and Denver metro area. Wednesday will be dry and warm again, according to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast.

The forecast calls for afternoon high temperatures to reach the mid-to-upper 70s across the metro. The average high at this time of year is around 63 degrees for Denver. The record high for Wednesday is 88 degrees, which is out of reach.

Weather tonight: A few showers and cool

Tuesday evening showers will end after sunset and skies will turn clear overnight. It will be breezy with winds out of the south.

Forecast lows will be coldest in the Colorado mountains with readings in the 30s. However, most places will stay above freezing. Expect cool temperatures in the 40s for Denver and milder 50s along western towns.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny, breezy and warmer

It will be another warm day across Colorado on Wednesday as afternoon highs reach the 60s, 70s and even 80s. Temperatures will be running about 10-15 degrees above normal.

There will be some passing late-day clouds. There is a low chance for a stray shower across parts of the Eastern Plains.

Looking ahead: Soggy and cooler weekend

There will be a chance for scattered late-day thunderstorms on Thursday and again on Friday. The best chance for showers arrives on Saturday into Sunday as temperatures cool into the 50s.

The moisture could measure more than half an inch, which is great as the growing season continues and everything turns green.

The weather dries out early next week with the return of mainly sunny skies. The forecast highs will quickly warm into the low to middle 70s, which is above normal for late April.
