Denver weather: Warmer end of week and start to the weekend, plus a few showers

DENVER (KDVR) — A few more afternoon showers are in Denver’s weather forecast ahead of a warmer end to the weekend.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy

There will be a few spotty showers Thursday evening, followed by partly cloudy conditions through the overnight. Lows will stay close to seasonal, falling to around 40 degrees.

Weather tomorrow: Some thunderstorms, mostly east

Friday will follow a similar pattern to the last couple of days with morning sunshine, increasing clouds in the afternoon and a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

There is a marginal risk for thunderstorms to become strong to severe and produce large hail and damaging wind gusts as they move east into Kansas and Nebraska.

Temperatures will be slightly warmer than Thursday and near seasonal norms, climbing to the mid-60s.

Looking ahead: Warmer weekend

This weekend will bring drier and warmer conditions. There is a chance for a few showers on Saturday, mostly in the mountains. Temperatures will stay seasonal, reaching the mid-60s.

Sunday will be dry and windy with a southerly breeze gusting to around 45 mph at times in the Denver metro. The sunshine and warmer breeze will help to boost high temperatures to the upper 70s.

Monday will be cooler but seasonal with a high in the mid-60s and another chance for mountain showers. Tuesday and Wednesday will be mild with sunshine and a high in the 60s.
