Denver weather: Spring showers to start May

​DENVER (KDVR) — The month of April goes into the record books as the 18th wettest in Denver weather history with 3.28 inches of rain — well above the average of 1.68 inches.

Coloradans are starting May with a continued chance for showers. According to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, the rain chances are low and rain totals look low as well.

Weather tonight: Few clouds and cool temps

There will be some clouds moving across Colorado during the overnight hours. It will be breezy with a mainly southerly wind. Temperatures will be cold in the mountains with a few spots dipping below freezing.

It will be another cool night across metro Denver and the eastern plains with lows forecast in the 40s.

Weather tomorrow: Scattered thunderstorms possible

Wednesday will start off with plenty of sunshine followed by increasing clouds during the afternoon. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will develop and drift east through the evening before ending late at night.

Temperatures will be warm again with readings back in the 70s and 80s across eastern Colorado with 50s to 70s over the western half of the state.

Looking ahead: Spring showers and cooler

There will be a few showers possible each day through Saturday. Rain chances are low, meaning there will not be a washout any afternoon.

Temperatures will cool into the 60s. Rain totals will be light throughout the period.

The Denver metro will dry out at the end of the weekend and into early next week. Temperatures will warm quickly back into the 70s which is above the average of 60 degrees for early May.
