Denver weather: Spring showers to bring daily rain chances through the weekend

DENVER (KDVR) — A storm system will move across Colorado and produce snow in the mountains and rain showers in Denver weather overnight Monday into early Tuesday.

The mountains will see several inches of accumulation along with gusty wind, which could impact travel in the high country through early Tuesday. Rain showers and a little thunder are possible along the Front Range and in metro Denver overnight into early Tuesday along with gusty wind at times, according to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast.

Weather tonight: Windy with overnight showers

The wind will be gusty overnight with speeds up to 50 mph over the higher mountain peaks and up to 30 mph over the Eastern Plains.

Temperatures will be in the cold 20s and 30s, with falling snow in the high country. The westerly wind will keep temperatures at lower elevations in the cool 40s.

Weather tomorrow: Showers early, windy

It will still be windy at times on Tuesday with northwesterly speeds up to 30-35 mph along the Front Range. The wind could be a little stronger over the far Eastern Plains with gusts up to 50 mph.

Denver will have rain showers early before ending around noon followed by late-day sunshine. Temperatures will be pleasant in the 50s and 60s in the mountains and 60s and 70s on the plains.

Looking ahead: Daily showers, cooling off

Showers will be possible each day through Saturday before drying at the end of the weekend and early next week. The best chance for rain will be late Wednesday into early Thursday and again late Friday into early Saturday.

The showers early on Saturday could mix with a little wet snow before returning to rain and ending.

It will be cool through the middle to the end of the week with the rain chances. Temperatures will start to warm again on Sunday into Monday with more sunshine and dry days.
