Denver weather: Spring arrives with sunny days before next cold front

DENVER (KDVR) — The change of the seasons arrives in Denver weather late Tuesday and brings a stretch of warm afternoon temperatures before the next chance of showers arrives.

Temperatures in the coming days will be about 5-10 degrees above normal for this time of year. And there will be plenty of sunshine each day to make it feel even warmer, according to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast.

Weather tonight: Clear and cold

Skies will remain mostly clear overnight across the state. The wind will be light and generally from a southerly direction.

It will be cold with most places below freezing, except for the western valleys like Grand Junction. The coldest overnight readings will be in the teens and 20s across the Colorado mountains.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny and mild

Tuesday will bring plenty of sunshine to eastern Colorado and the metro Denver area. There could be a few passing late-day clouds along some areas of the Front Range.

There will also be a low chance for a few late-day snow showers hitting some mountain peaks in the Colorado high country, with light accumulation possible.

Looking ahead: Mild before next chance of showers

The sunshine and mild afternoon readings will last through the start of the weekend on Saturday. The warmest days will be Thursday and Saturday with upper 60s forecast and the chance for 70-degree readings across parts of metro Denver.

The next cold front looks to arrive late on Sunday with temperatures getting closer to seasonal levels and a few rain showers possible.

It will be cooler on Monday with snow showers possible early before changing back to rain showers. The Pinpoint Weather team is watching for the possibility of any accumulation with this cold front.
