Weather tonight: Evening storms and showers overnight

As thunderstorms moved onto the eastern and northeastern plains they may turn strong to severe. According to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, the biggest threat will be lightning, brief heavy rain, large hail and tornadoes (threat area highlighted below).

A few light showers could drift through a few spots overnight in the Denver metro area. It will be cold overnight in the Colorado mountains, which will help snow showers produce a few inches of accumulation — mainly above 9,000 feet and higher passes.

Memorial Day weekend does include low chances each day for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Sunday has the best chance of being dry for most places. Temperatures for the holiday weekend look to stay in the warm and seasonal low to mid-70s.
