Denver weather: Rain, thunderstorm chances before warmer, dry days

​​​​​DENVER (KDVR) — A cold front arriving Tuesday will bring cooler temperatures, more clouds and another round of showers and thunderstorms to the Denver weather forecast on Wednesday.

The best chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be south and west of Denver, according to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast.

Weather tonight: Storms could linger past midnight

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will end in most areas with the setting sun on Tuesday. A few overnight showers or thunderstorms could linger near the Wyoming-Nebraska border.

Most areas will have partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will be cool with 40s across the east and chilly 30s through the Colorado mountains.

Weather tomorrow: Cooler, showers likely

A cold front will have temperatures slightly below normal with afternoon highs forecast in the 60s for metro Denver and the Front Range.

There will be showers in the afternoon along with a few thunderstorms. The mountains will see a mix of rain and snow showers, with the snow confined to elevations above 10,000 feet.

Looking ahead: Warming with a few dry days

The forecast looks drier with only isolated showers or thunderstorms on Thursday. The weather stays dry on Friday and Saturday as temperatures warm into the 80s for a few days.

A weather pattern of daily afternoon and evening thunderstorms returns Sunday through the middle of next week. Temperatures will still be in the middle 70s, which is slightly above normal for this time of year in Denver.
