Denver weather: Patchy frost, freezing cold possible overnight

DENVER (KDVR) — Overnight lows are forecast to turn chilly to cold across the Front Range and in Denver weather into early Wednesday. Most places will stay just above freezing with some patchy frost possible.

According to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, there will be some below-freezing temperatures across the Palmer Divide, where some southern metro towns are under a freeze warning (this is the dark blue area highlighted below).

Anyone with sensitive plants in those areas must cover them or bring them inside. If sprinklers were turned on early, cover external pipes to protect them from the possible cold temperatures.

Weather tonight: Clearing skies and cold

Snow showers will slowly end toward midnight in the Colorado mountains. Skies will clear overnight in most places.

It will still be breezy with westerly winds up to 20 mph. There will be another round of cold overnight lows in the teens and 20s in the Colorado high country. It will also be chilly across eastern Colorado, with lows forecast to dip into the 30s.

For Mother’s Day plans outdoors, early is better than later in the day. However, it does not look like a lot of rain either day over the weekend.

The warm temperatures and daily scattered storms will continue into early next week. Overnight lows will improve with temperatures back into the 40s each day.
