Denver weather: Afternoon storms and cooler temperatures

DENVER (KDVR) — Storms are expected Tuesday afternoon in the metro with extra clouds and slightly cooler temperatures in the Denver weather forecast.

Weather today: Afternoon storms

Extra clouds will be across the area on Tuesday as early storms exit along the plains.

Storms are possible along the Front Range in the afternoon and will push into the plains by Tuesday evening. With the extra clouds, highs will only make it to the lower 60s.

Weather tonight: Clearing skies

Skies will continue to clear overnight Tuesday, allowing for lows to dip below average in the lower 40s. Winds will also be lighter.

Looking ahead: Warming and drying into weekend

Wednesday brings mainly sunny skies back into the forecast with just below-average highs in the lower 70s.

Thursday brings some heat back into the forecast with mostly sunny skies and warm highs in the upper 70s. Friday adds in a few extra clouds for the afternoon with below-average highs in the upper 60s.

Saturday also has partly cloudy skies, but temperatures are close to the average high in the middle 70s. Showers and storms are possible on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday will keep the extra clouds around with mild highs in the middle 70s. Sunshine is back for Memorial Day with comfy highs in the middle 70s.
