Denver weather: 70s and sunny with red flag warnings

DENVER (KDVR) — Most of Colorado will see plenty of sunshine on Thursday, with some of the warmest temperatures recorded this year in the Denver weather forecast.

Weather tonight: Extra clouds

A few clouds push in for the overnight hours on Thursday, with increased wind. Low temperatures will dip into the middle 40s, keeping Denver close to the warmest low temperature for April 5.

Looking ahead: Changes for the weekend

Friday will be a windy day with winds at 20-30 mph and gusts even higher. There will be partly cloudy skies in the high country and mainly sunny skies in the metro with highs in the mid-70s.

With high winds and low humidity, there is increased fire danger south of the metro and across the plains on Friday.

Light snow pushes into the mountains late Friday night and lingers through most of Saturday. Snow stays in the mountains on Saturday with the chance for a quick metro rain shower in the morning and some light snow along the Palmer Divide.

Accumulations can range from 2-8 inches for mountain towns, but nothing is expected to stick along the divide.

Highs on Saturday will be below average in the low 50s.

Sunday has partial clearing with highs in the middle 50s.

Monday looks OK for the solar eclipse, with some clouds around and highs in the upper 50s. Late on Monday, snow will slide into the mountains and slowly clear through Tuesday.

The Front Range could see a quick shower on Tuesday with metro highs in the middle 50s.

Sunshine is back for Wednesday with more seasonal highs near 60 degrees.
