When will Denver hit 80 degrees? It could be soon

DENVER (KDVR) — Even though Denver was slow to hit 70 degrees for the first time this season, the good news is that the Mile High City might be able to reach 80 degrees this weekend.

The bad news is that it won’t stay that way.

When will Denver hit 80 degrees?

Even with the overnight lows in the 30s and 40s, Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Travis Michels says it’s likely for Denver to hit 80 degrees on Friday and Sunday.

Not only are the forecasted temperatures extremely close to a high of 80 degrees, but it’s also around mid-April that Denver has its first hot streak.

These temperatures were the same in 2023

Last year, Denver temperatures were around the same as they are this year.

From April 11-13, 2023, Denver temperatures hit as high as 85 degrees, which was the first time in the year that temperatures were over 80 degrees.

However, this was the only 80-degree stretch in April last year. Weather dipped back into the 50s and 60s, and Michels expects the same thing to happen this year.

These temperatures won’t stay

The warm weekend weather won’t last long, as the following work week will dip into the 50-degree mark.

Last year, the next time the Mile High City saw 80 degrees was at the end of May, which is likely the same for this year, according to Michels.

For Denver to see 80 degrees consistently, the average temperature in Denver hits 80 degrees on June 5.

Spring weather isn’t over just yet. Denver still has a month or two before the city will start feeling consistently hot temperatures in the 60 and 70-degree range, and even longer until it stays in the 80s.
