Denmark, in collaboration with Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Poland, is spearheading a plan to integrate Ukraine into the European defense industry, the Danish Defense Ministry announced.

Ahead of an EU defense ministers' meeting in Brussels on May 26, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated, "Together with seven other defense ministers, we plan to prepare an EU action plan for Ukraine's integration into the European defense industry as soon as possible."

The proposal includes four specific areas of cooperation, enabling Kyiv to participate in EU defense industry and innovation programs. "A strengthened Ukrainian defense industry is crucial not only for Ukraine but also for our security of supply in Europe," Poulsen emphasized.

He further noted the potential benefits of broader EU support: "It will certainly strengthen Ukraine if more EU countries support Danish investments and follow our example."
