Demi Lovato totally channeled “The Last Song” Miley Cyrus with her fashion

Even though their Disney Channel days are behind them, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus are still connected. That’s because Lovato wore a dress to an Oscar party that was incredibly similar to a dress that Cyrus wore in The Last Song. Twitter user eboy94 is to thank for making this amazing discovery and although Lovato and Cyrus might not be friends anymore, their fashion game is still somehow a united force.

Lovato was hanging with Joe and Nick Jonas at the Vanity Fair Oscar party and looking outrageously glam in a lilac Monique Lhuillier gown. And if you had a case of déjà vu when you saw it, that was because it was reminiscent of the dress that Cyrus’ character Ronnie wears in The Last Song.

While Cyrus wore her purple dress to a wedding with Liam Hemsworth in the movie (swoon), Lovato had an even swankier affair to attend since it was Hollywood’s biggest night — the Academy Awards. And though Cyrus’ The Last Song dress was gorgeous, Lovato’s full-length gown and train understandably had a bit more of that red carpet wow factor.

If that comparison wasn’t enough for you, someone else on Twitter took the connection one step further and brought up how both of these two dresses could have been inspired by Hermione at the Yule Ball in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

No matter how similar these dresses are, each woman looked uniquely beautiful and we wouldn’t mind having a purple, ruffled gown of our own one day.
