Delta Airlines said one of its Boeing aircraft deployed an emergency slide by mistake.

The Boeing 767 was parked at a gate at London Gatwick (LGW) after arriving from New York (JFK) when the incident took place on the morning of Monday, April 15.

“I can confirm the slide deployment after arrival of DL62 inbound from JFK yesterday,” a rep for Delta Airlines tells PEOPLE.

“There were no reported injuries nor any operational impact beyond a delay on the return as the slide was replaced. The outbound flight from London Gatwick back to New York on DL62 had a resulting delay of two hours and forty-seven minutes.”

Images obtained by PEOPLE show the emergency slide resting atop a catering truck after it accidentally deployed.

Airport employees could be seen taking a peek out of the windows at the uncommon sight.

A fire truck and a pickup truck with the department were also spotted as first responders attempted to get the issue sorted out so that crew members and passengers could safely board the aircraft and arrive at their destinations.

According to aviation site PYOK, another Delta-operated Boeing 767 had what is known in the industry as an “inadvertent slide deployment” shortly after landing at Dublin Airport last September.

Boeing airplanes have made headlines as of late for multiple emergency landings — with one of the most notable incidents being the 65 Boeing 737-9 aircraft that was headed for Ontario, California when a portion of the plane blew off mid-air in January.

Several other incidents involving Boeing aircraft followed, including one in which the nose wheel of a Boeing jet used by United Airlines fell off just before takeoff in Atlanta. In March, a tire fell off of a United Airlines flight after takeoff and hit vehicles that were in the parking lot below.

Amid these safety issues, Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun announced in March that he would step down from his position with the company at the end of 2024.

“He will continue to lead Boeing through the year to complete the critical work underway to stabilize and position the company for the future,” the company said in a statement.
