All the Delicious Details from Serena Williams' Wedding—Including a Salad Wall!

Every detail of Serena Williams’ wedding was sentimental—all the way down to the food.

The tennis star, 36, who married Alexis Ohanian, 34, at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Nov. 16 (the birthday of the Reddit founder’s late mother Anke) chose not one but five different cuisines to serve at her big day.

A source told PEOPLE that their 200 guests, including Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian West and Eva Longoria, were first greeted with Casamigos spicy cucumber-jalapeño margaritas before the pair exchanged their vows. Then the cocktail hour featured both Chinese and New Orleans-style food trucks and a Casamigos bar serving traditional margaritas and “New Fashioned” cocktails made with Añejo tequila, agave nectar, orange bitters, and angostura bitters.

After a New Orleans marching band played, the source says friends and family enjoyed a dinner by Creative Edge made up of different food stations all curated for a special reason: Italian (the couple first met in Rome), Southern-style (Williams’ favorite), and Armenian (for Ohanian’s heritage). The night also featured a salad wall and a steak station.

Guests sat at four long tables, each named for the athlete’s grand slam wins, before flowing into another room inside the venue for a surprise performance by New Edition. There they burned off all the incredible food by dancing the night away—including Williams’ sister Venus who reportedly showed off her twerking skills.

“It was a really intimate wedding. You could see everything Serena loves in the details,” adds the source. “All the guests were her close family and friends and people she has known for a long time. There was a lot of love in the room.”
