Two of the four lanes at the Southworth ferry terminal will be closed for construction for approximately three weeks, starting Monday, May 20.

Construction crews will replace the wooden decking of the walkway along the south side of the pier that is "badly in need of repair," according to WSF, ahead of the busy summer travel season. Crews have started setting up this week.

Washington State Ferries cautions that there may be possible delays on the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route during the construction period, and encourages riders arrive early or take alternate routes, if possible. In addition, oversized vehicles that require a travel request form won't be able to travel to Vashon Island out of Southworth during the time.
