Del Valle’s Fette receives first Division I offer from Texas Tech

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – As a sophomore in 2023, Del Valle quarterback Jake Fette burst onto the scene as arguably the best signal-caller in El Paso in his first full season on varsity. Colleges are already taking notice.

Fette announced on social media on Wednesday that he had received his first Division I offer from Big 12 program Texas Tech and head coach Joey McGuire. The Red Raiders are the first team to come calling for Fette’s services but don’t expect them to be the last.

In his first season on varsity, Fette already looked like a polished, poised, veteran quarterback. As a sophomore, he completed 62% of his passes for 2,465 yards, 27 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He also proved to be a duel threat, rushing for 346 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Already one of the best players in El Paso as a sophomore, the sky is the limit for Fette, who comes from an athletic family; his father played football at UTEP and is now a Del Valle assistant coach.

In 2024, Fette will pair with fellow Power Five recruit Manny Fuller (running back/safety) to lead the Conquistadores. After bowing out in the Bi-District round in 2023, Del Valle will want more next fall.

Fette hopes to be the one to lead them there and college programs will be watching and waiting to see what he can do.
