Del City High School senior says winning Free Ride warms his heart
For the ninth straight year, KOCO 5 has given a deserving high school senior a new car and up to a $25,000 scholarship.
Four other finalists in the Eskridge Auto Free Ride contest also received a $5,000 scholarship.
KOCO 5 teamed up with Eskridge Auto Group and Prosperity Bank to make dreams come true. All five Free Ride finalists were deserving and nervous as the winner was announced Monday night in Oklahoma City.
The winner of the 2018 Eskridge Auto Free Ride is Del City High School senior Victor Price. He is a valedictorian, maintains a 4.3 GPA and plans to go to the University of Oklahoma and major in political science and philosophy.
"We are all so deserving. If anybody won, I woulda been happy either way," Price said. "But the fact that it was me, it just warms my heart."
Price also has helped his single mother raise his brothers and sisters. Many of them were in the crowd Monday night cheering him on.
"All the hard work I've put in over the years paid off," he said.
