Decatur yard waste collection starting April 1

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The City of Decatur announced that its six-week yard waste collection service for residents will begin on April 1.

Controlled burn planned in Macon Co. on Wednesday

Unlimited amounts of yard waste will be collected weekly by haulers until mid-May. Yard waste must be placed in either paper bags designed for composting, hauler-approved totes, or approved yard waste containers. The Civic Center box office is providing “yard waste only” stickers that must be used on approved containers.

Yard waste collection will also take place for six weeks in the fall. Visit decaturil.gov/garbage-recycling/ for more information.
