As reported on News Center 7 at 6, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Joshua M T Brown.

Before 9 a.m., Dayton police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Oakridge Drive on reports of a person down, according to DPD Lieutenant Steven Bauer.

“One of our crews called in and said we need an officer at the 2200 block of Oakridge in the alley. There’s a black male, non-responsive, in the alley,” a worker said in a 911 call.

Bauer said officers found Brown’s body upon arrival.

Fred Harris told News Center 7′s Kayla McDermott he was taking out his trash and saw the body. He quickly noticed waste management and had them call the police.

“They said his pants are partially half off, but he’s not responsive,” the worker told 911.

Harris said when he was looking at the body, there were no obvious injuries, but he believes someone drove the victim to Oakridge Drive, dragged his body into the grass, and left.

“It’s sad to see how this body was laying out, he looked like a piece of trash,” Harris said. “That person was getting high with someone and then they got panic(ked) and scared and threw the body out. That’s what I think.”

Harris said this wasn’t his first time finding a dead body in the area. In the past, he found another body just up the street.

The Dayton Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating this death, Bauer said.
