Death of 64-year-old man in Lake Minneola being investigated by FWC

CLERMONT - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the death of a 64-year-man who went missing Monday in Lake Minneola.

Members of the Lake County Sheriff’s dive team recovered the man’s body at 6:45 pm.

The call to law enforcement came in at 3:49 p.m., according to county spokeswoman Sarah Lux. Two men entered the water and only one resurfaced. Lake County Fire Rescue transported the one man to an area hospital.

The Clermont Police Department also aided in the search.

FWC has not released the names of the men. The incident remains under investigation.
