Deadly Houston crash on I-610 North Loop WB at Yale; pedestrian dies
HOUSTON - A 44-year-old pedestrian died after he was struck by a car on a Houston highway on Monday morning.
The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the I-610 North Loop at Yale Street.
According to police, the man was on the mainlanes of the freeway when he was struck by a car. The pedestrian died at the scene.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and was not impaired. He was questioned and released.
The westbound roadway was closed for several hours while police investigated, and traffic was diverted onto the feeder road. The roadway reopened around 9 a.m.
The investigation continues.
