DC police hosting AirTag giveaway for car owners
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it was holding an AirTag giveaway in Northeast D.C. for car owners.
AirTags are tracking devices that can help people find and recover missing or stolen things.

The event will be held on Thursday, March 7, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Union Market, located at 6th Street between Morse and Neal streets NE.
To be eligible for an AirTag, people need to:
Live in the 501, 502, 503, 504, 505, 506 or 507 police service area of D.C.
Have ID and matching registration that shows proof of address
Android users will need to have the Tile app downloaded
Residents are asked to bring their car so MPD officers can install the devices on site. The AirTags will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
