DC police enforcing 2 new drug free zones

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) will be enforcing two new drug free zones Wednesday.

The two zones being enforced will start at 8 a.m. and will expire on April 8 at 7:59 a.m.

DC police establish first round of drug-free zones: Where are they?

In the Third District the boundaries are:

  • 600-700 blocks of Florida Ave., NW

  • 600-700 blocks of S St., NW

  • 1800 block of 6th St., NW

  • 1800-1900 blocks of 8th St., NW

In the Sixth District the boundaries are:

  • Starting from 5055 Benning Rd., SE to the intersection of Benning Rd., SE and Southern Ave., SE

  • 5000 block of Southern Ave., SE

  • 800 block of 51st St., SE

  • Address of 4675 and the 5000 block of H St., SE

  • West Alley, 5000 block of Benning Rd., SE

  • 4660-4666 Hillside Rd., SE

During this time, MPD officers can restrict anyone from loitering in these areas.
