DC police arrest man for assault on police officer, robbery

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said officers arrested a man moments after he assaulted someone and stole his property on Saturday afternoon in Southeast D.C.

The suspect approached the victim in the 3900 block of 4th St., SE at about 12:55 p.m. He assaulted the man and took property from him, according to MPD.

Responding officers tracked the suspect to a nearby apartment.

There, he assaulted one of the officers as he was taken into custody.

Police said 59-year-old Gardner Bradley of Southeast D.C., was arrested and charged with Robbery and Assault on a Police Officer.
