WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. officials announced that the District’s Late Night Hype series will be returning starting Friday.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the event’s return with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The series will have more events and resources thanks to a partnership with MPD’s Beat the Streets summer outreach series.

Officials said that the event kicks off on Friday, May 17 at the Barry Farm Recreation Center and Aquatic Center at 1230 Sumner Rd. SE. There will be events almost every Friday from June 7 through Aug. 23. Events last from 7 to 11 p.m.
