Daylight Saving Time illuminates fire safety with Red Cross’ ‘Turn and Test Fire Safety Initiative’

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The times are changing – we mean ‘Daylight Saving Time’ begins this Sunday and The American Red Cross wants you to keep some safety tips in mind with its annual ‘Daylight Saving Test and Turn fire safety initiative.’

Did you know you may have as little as two minutes to escape a fire? After turning the clocks forward this Sunday, we encourage taking a few minutes to test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, replace their batteries, and practice your family’s fire escape plan as precautions to ensure a safer home.
