Relic Entertainment just announced that preorders for its upcoming video game “Dawn of War III” are now live. The long-awaited installment of the “Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War” franchise is slated for release on April 27 of this year, so this is good news to fans who patiently waited for the real-time strategy game.
On Monday, Relic announced the good news to fans via the official Twitter page of “Dawn of War.” “The wait is almost over. We’re excited to announce that #DawnOfWar3 is now available for preorder!” the developer stated in a tweet. Interested players can preorder the $59.99 game from the official Dawn of War website or Steam.
There are three versions of the game for players to choose from. The first one is the Standard Edition, which simply contains the game. The second is the Collector’s Edition, which includes a copy of the game, a premium disc book, a lenticular art card, a copy of the game’s soundtrack, three cloth banners for the three factions in the game, the Masters of War skin pack and the special replica of the Godsplitter Daemon Hammer. Lastly, there’s the Limited Edition, which comes with an art card, a copy of the soundtrack and a disc book on top of the copy of the game.
Those who will be preordering “Dawn of War 3” will automatically have access to the Masters of War skin, which is a collection of three cosmetic skins for Super Walker Elites, as per PCGamesN.
“We’re thrilled to tell fans know that they don’t have to wait much longer to return to battle,” game director Philippe Boulle said. “The whole team can’t wait to bring back Dawn of War, bigger and better than ever. April can’t come soon enough!”
The official description of the game reads: “It’s a race to the pointy stikk as Gabriel Angelos, Farseer Macha, and Gorgutz ‘Ead’unter command their massive armies in a search for a mythical weapon that can control the fate of their races! With the Space Marines, Eldar, and Orks all hunting for the same treasure, there’s only one thing they’re certain to find - war.”
“Dawn of War 3” features base building as well as overhead-view strategic deployment of Eldar, Orks and Space Marines that are fighting for terrain and resources. Each of the three races has specific strengths, weaknesses and special abilities, according to Polygon.
