David Walker, Former U.S. Comptroller General, Endorses Romney

David Walker, a former U.S. Comptroller General whose name was floated as a third-party candidate for president earlier in the cycle, endorsed Mitt Romney on Monday.

“I believe that Gov. Mitt Romney is the clear choice for president,” Walker wrote in a statement. “He has proven leadership ability in all sectors of our economy.”

Walker pointed to Romney’s business experience as evidence that he could aid the economy and emphasized that a President Romney would have far more influence over a Republican-controlled House.

Walker said on MSNBC earlier this year that neither candidate has “a credible plan to restore fiscal sanity,” according to the Washington Post.
