David Foster Asks Court Not to Grant Spousal Support to Ex Yolanda Hadid

David Foster does not want to pay spousal support to ex Yolanda Hadid, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The music producer is asking to terminate the ability of the court to award spousal support to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, according to court documents. The documents also ask for Hadid not to be responsible for paying Foster any spousal support.

Hadid, 52, officially filed for divorce from Foster, 66, in January citing irreconcilable differences for the demise of their nine year relationship, four of which they spent married. In her divorce filing in January, Hadid indicated she was seeking spousal support and legal fees from Foster.

The pair separated in December.

"Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways," the couple told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement announcing their split. "We've shared nine beautiful and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues."

Shortly after releasing that statement, Hadid told Andy Cohen during a conversation on Watch What Happens Live! that her battle with Lyme disease had "changed the dynamic of the relationship."

Hadid was previously married to Mohamed Hadid from 1994–2000. She and Hadid are parents to three children together: Gigi, 20, Bella, 19, and son Anwar, 16.

David, who has been married four times, has five daughters from previous relationships.
