SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — David DePape, the man who broke into Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s home and attacked her husband with a hammer, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday. The story of DePape’s violent attack on Paul Pelosi in October of 2022, is fairly well known.

DePape, according to prosecutors, was driven by conspiracy theories and had plans to tie the former speaker up and break her kneecaps if she lied to him. When he realized Nancy Pelosi was not at home, and that the police arriving meant his plans were unraveling, he bludgeoned Paul Pelosi with a hammer.
