David Cassidy was admitted to a Florida hospital last week and his condition quickly worsened. His organs began to shut down and he was in dire need of a liver transplant.

Cassidy, who also starred in several musicals and even participated on Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” went public with his battle with dementia back in February.

In addition to the 10 albums Cassidy did with “The Partridge Family,” the teen idol from the days of disco saw his own single “Cherish” reach No. 9 in the U.S., No. 2 in the U.K., and No. 1 in Australia and New Zealand.
