David Becker, 18, Convicted Of Sexual Assault Will Receive No Jail Time
An 18-year-old accused of sexually assaulting two high school classmates will receive no jail time and has been given a sentence of two years probation. David Becker of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, was charged with two counts of rape one count of indecent assault and battery.
The rules of Becker’s sentencing also entail he stay away from drugs and alcohol and not contact the victims. He also has to undergo an evaluation for sex offender treatment, according to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office. Yet despite sexually assaulting two fellow seniors at a house party, Becker doesn’t have to register as a sex offender.
News of Becker’s lenient sentencing echoes of Brock Turner. The Stanford University swimmer who was convicted of a raping an unconscious woman on campus, then received a six months prison sentence.
According to police reports, Becker told investigators he assumed it was okay when his one of classmates didn’t protest. However, If Becker successfully completes his probation the charges won’t appear on his record.
