Johnson had been running outside with classmates prior to being found unresponsive on the floor of his Lower Paxton Township home.

Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo says their investigation is not yet complete, but an update will be provided with Lower Paxton Township Police on Friday.

The investigation into Johnson’s death has drawn widespread attention in the community after racially insensitive language used by a classmate was captured on security footage while Johnson was running outside.

Chardo has previously said investigators were looking into the classmates involved in the incident, including the language used by one of the boys.

An attorney for Johnson’s family says the game “Senior Assassin,” may have played a role in the teen’s death. The game often involves classmates chasing down other students in a tag-like game.

Community mourns the loss of Justin Johnson

The family’s attorney Nicholas Johnson says they’re looking into whether one of the other teens involved was carrying a weapon, but said “it’s our belief that (Justin) was in fear.” He later added they’re looking into other possible reasons why Justin was chased, including hazing.

Lower Paxton Township Police says anyone with video or information to contact them directly at 717-558-5900.
