Daughter's Photographs Document Father's Homeless Life

Diana Kim, a Hawai’i-based photographer and law student, hadn’t seen her father since she was 5 years old. He had left her and her mom all those years ago, and they rarely ever saw him again — that is until she saw him living on the streets two years ago. She had been photographing homeless communities for about 10 years when she saw him among the homeless men and women she had been taking photos of. Since then, it has been a complicated, emotional process as her father tries to stabilize his mental illness, turn his life around, and build a new relationship with his daughter.
