Datsun Redigo reaches dealerships

Datsun’s new entry level car Redigo is set for launch in June. The car has reached dealerships ahead of its official debut. Interested customers can book the vehicle with a token amount of Rs 5,000. On the pricing aspect, the car is expected to be priced between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh.
Deliveries for the Redigo will begin in July. The Redigo based on Kwid platform comes with a 800cc petrol engine which puts out 54bhp at 5,678rpm and 72Nm of torque at 4,388rpm. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, the vehicle claims to return a fuel efficiency figure of about 25.17 kmpl. In terms of safety, it comes with a driver’s side airbag. An AMT option would be introduced at a later date depending on the demand for the same.
As for features, the Redigo gets LED daytime running lights, power steering, music system with CD/USB/AUX, front power windows and AC. They will be offered in five shades - white, silver, grey, red and lime green. The car gets a ground clearance of about 185mm, thereby making it the highest in its class.
