Danville Police investigating Friday morning shooting

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A Danville man is recovering in the hospital after police said he was shot early Friday morning.

Officials said the victim, identified as 33-year-old Keith Goldsmith, was shot while at a house in the area of Hazel and Fairchild Streets. An acquaintance dropped him off at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center around 1:30 a.m.

UPDATE: Pedestrian hit by multiple cars in Danville identified

Goldsmith was later transferred to another hospital for further treatment and he is currently in fair condition.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone who has information that can help is asked to contact either the Danville Police Department at 217-431-2250 or Vermilion County Crime Stoppers at 217-446-8477.
